Fiesta de Cuasimodo in Chile
The Fiesta de Cuasimodo, which is held in Chile, has absolutely nothing to do with a hunchback in a bell tower or a beautiful gypsy girl being rescued from her circumstances. The name of the festival might be a little deceiving, but it is a religious festival in Chile that is held annually on the first Sunday after Easter Sunday. It has its roots deeply imbedded in the colorful history of Chile, and even though it originates from a once needed service performed to aid the church, it slowly evolved to become a part of tradition and culture.
The Manchester Irish Festival
The Manchester Irish Festival is a two week celebration of Ireland, a country fondly known as the Emerald Isle. From 7 to 20 March 2008, the Manchester Irish Festival offers an exciting program of events including music, theater, comedy, sport and dance as well as themed parties. Hydra Island in Greece
The picturesque island of Hydra is one of the Saronic Islands located between the islands of Poros and Spetses, just off the mainland of Greece. In addition to being a popular island for the holiday homes of wealthy Greeks, Hydra is a prime international tourist destination and a haven for artists. The island can only be reached by water, and ferries regularly travel between the port of Hydra and the port of Piraeus adjacent to Athens, as well as the port of Nafplion on the Peloponnese coast.
FRIGID New York – Something a Little Different
FRIGID New York is an independent theater festival presented by Horse TRADE in association with EXIT Theater. As a CAFF (Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals) member, FRIGID New York has adopted the CAFF goal of providing all artists with the opportunity to present their work to the public, irrespective of the content, form or style. They also strive to make the festival as accessible and affordable as possible for members of the community to enjoy. FRIGID New York will run from 27 February through to 9 March 2008 at The Kraine Theater, The Red Room and Under St. Marks, New York City and kicks off the annual North American Fringe Circuit.
