Denmark is situated in Northern Europe, bordering the Baltic Sea and the North Sea, on a peninsula north of Germany, it also includes tow islands (Sjaelland and Fyn).

Denmark's main natural resources are petroleum, natural gas, fish, salt, limestone, chalk, stone, gravel and sand. Flooding is a threat in some area of Denmark, such as parts of Jutland and along the southern coast of the island of Lolland, but these areas are protected from the sea by a system of dikes.

95% of Denmark's population is Evangelical Lutheran, 3% are Protestants and Roman Catholics and the other 2% are Muslims.
