Come on, we all need some exercise....work off those Christmas brownies, Hanukkah treats, Kwaanza goodies.
Let's start with a warm up. Jumping jacks. Twenty in a row! One, two, three, four.....

The best activity I know is what we call glasslifting. We practice it at the nearest 'boteco' (booh teh koo) or barzinho (bah zee nyoo). Then you ask for a 'cerva' (seh vah) or 'uma estupidamente gelada'(oo mah ehs too pee dah mayn tche jeh lah dah). The literal translation for this last phrase is odd: a stupidly cold/frozen but believe me, they both mean you want a beer. You will get a bottle of beer. Important note: in Brazil, we do share our beers!!! You can practice glasslifting on your own, but it is a lot more fun when you invite other people to join. When to stop: usually, when you just can't take any more alcohol.
