My great great grandfather came to the US from Belgium with some of his family, when war broke out he went back to help the others and he was never heard from again....I would appreciate any info from anyone. I believe his name was Frank. No one is certain where he lived, but it is believed to be in Brussels or Jumet. Even if you don't know about my great great grandfather, I would still like to hear about my family, Delbrassine or Brassine, much of my family history was lost when he dissappeared and we know nothing of my family in Belgium. I'm doing this for the older people in my family, who i know would greatly appreciate it.

Hello Larissa,
It would help a great deal if you would give cities or last known addresses, as well as first names. Otherwise, there's not much we can do ...

I am in the same situation as you I fear. My family history is very sketchy at best but I do know of the Delbrassine/Brassine heritage and name change.
Most of my namesake family is in Indiana, my father being the oldest of five children. His name is Larry Brassine. I am glad I found this message board even though this thread is over a year old. Once I find more information I will try to post or send an email. Brian Brassine Charlotte, NC |

Hello,
I just did a search on the Delbrassine and find 59 listing and 77 of the Brassine. I suggest you go to keyword "white page" write the name and select Belgium. I also suggest you write a short letter to inquire if they could be relate to your great grand father, also inclose a stamped envelope and ask them to either reply to your letter with a yes or a no. You may need to write it in french or flamish. I find many menbers of my father's family here in the states that way. Let me know if I can help. Jeanine honeyb9711@aol.com |
