Hello,
I am in search of a Henri Cottenie born in Belgium who married Valentine Schockele,or SckokelaBorn in Belgium ,they had three children Mary B Cottenie Born 1, Augest, 1907, in Belgium,Alphonse Henri Cottenie and one other daughter,they do appear on Ellis Islands ships manifest,on their arrival to the United States,

ETHNICITY,BELGIAN,FLEMISH
RESIDENCE,?EL,BELGIUM
AGE ON ARRIVAL,HENRI 34, VALENTINE 32, MARY 12,ALPHONSE?
SHIP OF TRAVEL, ROCHAMBEAU
PORT OF DEPARTURE, Le HAVRE,SEINE-INFERIOR,FRANCE
this is all I have on them so far I have death certificates ordered but because they were born outside the States they probably won't help much,so I thankyou for any information
Mary B Cottenie married my Grandfather John H Rossiter in Minnesota where they lived untill their death
HENRI COTTENIE- DIED-11,OCTOBER,1935
MRS,VALENTINE COTTENIE-DIED-20,APRIL,1923
MARY B COTTENIE ROSSITER -DIED-5,FEBURARY,1988 ALL THREE OF THEM DIED IN ST.LOUIS COUNTY, MINNESOTA.

Actually their certficates may be very useful as some countries include a great deal of information other than the name and date of death of the individual.

Sometimes there is information on family. Birth certificates in some countries are even more useful as they can contain the parents names and addresses.
