Elison isn't a swedish name but Eliasson or Eliason are, Elison could be derived from one of those names. A lot of the Swedes that immigrated to America ”anglified” their names so it would be easier to pronounce.

I was looking through all of the pages searching for this particular surname. My Grandfather is Carl Eliason and his father is Carl Oscar Eliason from Sweden. Who are your relitives? Maybe there is a link somehow. My GreatGrandfather migrated to America in the 1800's. Eventually his son my grandfather settled in California. I live in Oregon USA.

The name Elis is not common, but used in Sweden. In the old days, Elison would be last name of the son of Elis (however, typical Swedish spelling would be Elisson).
Elis is a Swedish version of the Christian name Elias.
