My mother and I are searching for our geneology roots in the Krautz, Svenson, and Norman families. My great grandmother, Walburg Marie Svenson Krautz, left Ed, Sweden and traveled by ship to Ellis Island. Her maiden name was either Svenson or Norman, but she followed her fiance whose last name was Krautz to America. Does anyone have any information on any of these families?

i have records of a relative named Sven Svenson (cant remember if its one s or two) who lived in Sweden around 1860, I cant recall the name of the town (havnt finished translating). By the way, does anyone know what "fo:dd" mean? i think its either "died" or "born" but im not sure, and inet searches were unsuccessful. Tack

Research

Greetings from Sparta, Michigan! I am researching my scandinavian heritage. My gr. grandfather was Andrew William Malmborg, born in Sweden, don't know where, anyone ever heard of the name Malmborg? My grandmother, Wihemina Swanson was born 2-8-1881 in Gamleby,Kalmar Co. Sweden. Her father was Swan, Gustof, nickname Charlie, Swan or Swanson. His wife was Mary Anderson. They had my grandmother and a son Emil and a daughter Charlotte. They came to the U.S. in approx. 1885 or 86 and settled in a mining town in Palmer,Michigan. My grandmother and her sister then moved to Ishpeming, Michigan near Palmer. Is there anyone out there in Sweden land that could tell me how to find her birth record? I've found a tremendous amount of information and records online for norwegians but nothing for sweden. I don't even know who I could write to for her birth records now that I know the parish she was born in. It said Socken next to the word Gamleby so I'm assuming that is the parish, am I right? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me or lead me to the right people! Takk Sa Mykett!
