Hi, My name is Gayle and I have been doing some searching of my surnames. I am looking for names: Ingrid Petersdotter who came to America in the 1850's, she was born at Wambasa Village, Forkarla Parish, Blekinge, Sweden. And also Ola Mannson From Listerby Parish, Blekinge, Sweden. Any information on how to find my heritage would be helpful .. Thank you from Nebraska..

Its free and full of information. Do a basic search on the names you know and see where that leads.

Check the censuses on line at http://www.arkion.se/ as well. It isn't free but cost is reasonable about $4.50 US for three hours.

I only use http://www.familysearch.org to get the names - then search elsewhere for other proof. It is a good starting place though since it is free to search.


A good place to look for relatives in 1890 is the Anno 1890 census site but not unfortunately for Blekinge.
