Can anyone tell me what the procedures are in New Zealand for Americans who die away from home? I live in Birmingham, Alabama and am researching the death of Gerald Shaw in Auckland, New Zealand - April, 1988. Is there a website for such documents? Any suggestions?

You could try writing to the Registrar of Births/Deaths & Marriages in Auckland.

I do not know the exact address, but you could just try writing to:

The Registrar
Births/Deaths & Marriages
Auckland City
New Zealand

I'm sure that your letter will make it's way there!
