Here's one place to help you get started on your journey to Denmark..

Denmark is full of history.. one of the things I loved about living there and love about living in Sweden.. it's rich rich history.

Here's something some of you may think is cool.. an ancient rune stone.. The rune stones in Jelling are among the oldest in existence..and date back to the time of some of Denmark's oldest kings Gorm and Harold the Bluetooth.

Jelling is a really cool place to explore if you like history and vikings.

Here's a link to some info on Jelling.. and Vikings too!

http://www.fortidensjelling.dk/

Hmm.. The pic is messed up.. I'll try and get it working again.. in the meanwhile you can see more pics of the runes at the link I left.

Here's a map of Jutland:

If you look north of Kolding.. you'll see a town called Vejle.. just northwest of there is Jelling. (If you look west you'll see Ribe..another place full of history.

The history is probably my favorite thing about living in Scandinavia.

No, Jelling isn't my favorite.. My favorite thing about Denmark, besides my husband's family are the churches.. hmm.. well.. maybe the pastries.. I just LOVE those. *grins*

My favorite place in Denmark is the tiny town of Maribo, on Lolland, where my husband and I lived and married.
