The Universe

I will give you some thing to think about.
Read the following:

The Universe

In a universe whose size is beyond human imagining, where our world floats like a dust mote in the void of night, men have grown inconceivably lonely.
We scan the time-scale and the mechanisms of life itself for portents and signs of the invisible. As the only thinking mammals on the planet-perhaps the only thinking animals in the entire sidereal universe-the burden of consciousness has grown heavy upon us. We watch the stars, but the signs are uncertain. We uncover the bones of the past and seek for our origins. There is a path there, but appears to wander. The vagaries of the road may have a meaning, however; it is thus we torture ourselves...

Loren Eiseley, The Immense Journey ( 1946 )

Hello, Goldstein. How are you doing ?

The Universe to me is like "waves of joy
pools of sorrow drifting through my open
mind caressing and possessing me ".
John Lennon's ' Across The Universe '.

To my humble opinion, he meant it's up to
us to choose the positive ( waves of joy )
or the negative ( pools of sorrow ). Given
that each of us experiences both of them.
Then we can strenghten our personalities
through the negative events and enjoy the
waves of joy whenever we swim through them
to reach the sea of elation and satisfaction.

At the same time we mustn't regret the pools
of sorrow which helped us not drown in them.
As we are still here on v-sweden.com to surf
on the magical waves of Sweden. To gain the
kiss of life and enjoy our whale of a time.

Lycka till.

Philosophy in Europe

What is the earliest philosophical writing that belongs to European Philosopher.
Exclude Latin and Greek philosophers.

Bertrand Russel ? Voltaire ? Charles Darwin ? ( Evolution can be considered as philosophy since The theory of Evolution is only a hypothesis, and not a proven fact).

Do not exclude Karl Marx's "Das Kapital" and Frederick Angels' "Dialectic Materialism" and Gunnar Myrdal's
"Asian Drama". They are economic philosophies.

Adolf Hitler's "Mein Kampf" can also be added to the above list, since this can be considered as political philosophy.
Are there no person in Sweden interested in philosophy?
