can you tell me the history of 'tinopai' and of any wars. Where the name came from, who were the first to settle and any other infomation connected to this beautiful place.I know the 'Miru' family now live and own lands there but thats about it. Much appreciated for any info.

Smile Tinopai

In case you or anyone else is interested Tinopai basically means "very good" (Tino = good Pai = very). The town is located in the Kaipara which is named after the abundance of an edible fern found there during pre-Pakeha times.

Im afraid I dont know much else about the town.
