I hope you can enjoy ABBA at least, darling Niquie.
If you don't like me, it's not a problem, I hope I can survive.... But if you hate whatever I love, please. You'd give evidence of what I've always sustained. And, just to be clear, I love Italy ( you're tremendously right in that sweetie angel ). But I also love Sweden, Abba, The Beatles, The Corrs, Ireland, England, Danmark and many other bands and countries..... So hate me if it's a way to reach your bliss, but if you want to hate whatever and whoever I like or love, I'm afraid it's a very long list. Neverending list, starting with this, of course........Niquie, the little devil I love the most. The only little devil I really love in spite of her words always against me. But this is the secret, little angel, love is the winner. Lycka till, kära lilla ängel. Jag älskar dig, I love you Niquie. Do you still hate me ? And I still love you !!!! I'm Italian, after all ! You should know it by now. Ciao tesoro Niquie. I love your nickname as well. For me it's the best of them all. Vi ses min hjärtaväninna. |

To get back to the point of Danish-Swedish slave trade...
Quote:
rough translation Dutch-English: "In 1649 a Dutch trader, Lodewijk De Geer, founded a company for African trade. First it looked like it had some succes, because De Geer had connections with an high employee of the WIC (West-Indian Company- the Dutch); the German Caerlof. Caerlof knew to get some forts on the African from the WIC, but in 1658 he suddenly decided to join the service of a Danish Trade Company. That company was, just like the Swedish one, being made possible by investments from Holland. But otherwise than the Swedish, the Danish took care of the bussiness with much more energy and even built 2 grand new, large fortresses on the Goldcoast. However the Danish company didn't make much profit, because they had no good markets in the West-Indies (=America) to sell their slaves... That way, the WIC pulled on the longest end. The Swedish Arica-company was been lifted in 1663. The WIC bought them out for 140000 'rijksdaalders'(coins). The Danish reorganised their Africa-Company, attracted finances from their own country and held some fortresses on the Goldcoast, wich they didn't sell until 1850. The 'management' of the WIC hardly resisted against against the entry of the Danish on the slavemarket, because they never won't be dangereous compititives." The Swedish and the Danish could not of been coöperating together, 'cause they split up in 1523, am I right? This is waaaay before there was an intention to establish traded posts, and certainly no colonies... I hope this gave you a bit an image of the Danish-Swedish slave trade... |
