Let's say I'm in an accident somewhere in Hamilton, NZ and I need to be flown to the southern island for treatment. Would I have to pay for the flight to the southern island? Also, let's say it's been almost a month since the accident and I haven't been treated by anything more than medication...would I have to pay for the flight then? And would I need a passport to go from the north island to the south island? This question is of utmost importance to me. Thanks in advance.

You are showing your ignorance if you think you need a passport to go from one island to the other. Get real .

I know this is an old post but maybe it will start discussion on this topic flowing.
Under ACC (http://www.acc.co.nz) I think that citizens & permenant residents are covered for all expenses in the case of an accident (that would include flying you to a hospital). People on vacation in New Zealand, however may have different rules: http://www.acc.co.nz/claimscare/maki...e-visiting-nz/ Personally, I think comprehensive travel insurance is a good idea anyway though. |
