Louis Jones is a federal inmate who is scheduled to be put to death by the U.S. Government at the U.S. Penitentiary in Terre Haute, Indiana on March 18, 2003. If this execution proceeds, it will be the third federal execution to take place during the Bush administration (after a 38-year de facto halt on federal executions). Louis Jones served 22 years as an Army Ranger and is a veteran of the 1990/91 Gulf War. There is substantial evidence that he now suffers from Gulf War Syndrome. He was convicted of the 1995 kidnapping, rape, and murder of Tracie McBride.
