I had the opportunity to see some good Norwegian Movies last week, promoted by the Norwegian Embassy.
How many movies are made in sweden? And how can we get to see some good movies in India? I would like to explore the possibility of getting the latest swedish movies with subtitles in english in India. Can anyone guide me.

A guy called Lukas Moodyson has made a couple of great films. Especially his last one, Together (Tillsammans) had quite a success in New York this summer. You'll laugh your head off...

Does anyone have more suggestions for Swedish films?

...The only I've seen is "Show Me Love" (F*cking Amal).

Thanks!

Picassos Äventyr is without a doubt the best swedish movie ever made and one of the funniest ever made.

Darn! My videostore does not carry this.

I have been watching lots of Scandinavian films lately. Here are some Scandinavian films I've seen recently that I recommend to you folks:

*Emma's Shadow-Skyggen af Emma (Denmark)
*Elling (Norway)
*My Life As A Dog-Mitt liv som hund (Sweden)
*Show Me Love-F*cking Amal (Sweden)
*Hamsun (Norway)
*The Celebration-Festen (Denmark)
*The Other Side of Sunday-Sondagsengler (Norway)
*Cold Fever (Iceland/Japan)
*Smilla's Sense of Snow-Froken Smillas kansla for sno (Denmark/Greenland)
*The Idiots-Idioterne (Denmark)

Pleeeeaaaase tell me of more good Scandinavian films. Thanks!

I noticed at least one "Dogma-film" in your list, Mere. I saw an excellent Dogma film called "Älskar dig för evigt". It is called "Open Hearts" in English, and I think it was shown at the Toronto Film Festival in Canada. Anyway, it is a new and great Danish film that I can highly recommend!

For a bit of comedy in the dark and cold winter, I am awaiting the next weird Swedish movie from the mr Fares , it is called "Kopps" and opens in February in Sweden

Mere:

If you can find 'Picassos Äventyr', see it. The great thing about that movie is that you don't need to be able to understand swedish to enjoy it. The only dialouge that is in swedish is the narration which is most likely dubbed, the rest is a sort of mock-spanish, almost like pig latin mixed with a bit of english as well.
