Well, unfortunately for the discussion, I have not seen a single one of those movies...
I assume you are a movie fan? Welcome aboard! Not sure what you want to discuss about the movies, but I will list my favorites...

Hunt for Red October (all time favorite)
Top Gun (kickass! before Tom Cruise got weird)
Crimson Tide (Seemed very "Clancy" style, even if it wasn't)
All the James Bond Movies (Roger Moore is my favorite Bond)
The Russia House (Just a make-you-feel-good movie)
Sum of All Fears (Why the f*ck did they have to deviate from the book?!?!)
Office Space (Funniest movie I have seen in ages)
TripleX (Not sure why I like it, but I do!)
Also, I would LOVE to see a movie of Clancy's "Red Storm Rising"..but I'm not sure if it would be possible to make a movie on as large of a scale as would be required for that book and do a good job of it.

Funny Bones! Has anyone ever seen that movie? It's with Oliver Platt, Jerry Lewis and Lee Evans.

Patton is definitely good. I just think it really skimps on the actual battle scenes . . . I know..I know...it is due to the technical limitations of the time that it was made...
All, in all, though, it is a kickass movie....especially his comment about the revolver handles

Patton was certainly one of the best films ever made !

General Patton was so crucial to winning World War II...!

He... along with Gen. Eisenhover, Gen. MacArthur and other fine soldiers who took the devils by the tails....
and put Herr Hitler, Mussolini, Hirohito and others

........out of business........

ahh..more movie people on board.
g'day, AVI, and welcome

lets see...

1. seen it for the third time the other day; my last till the extended cut is released. and i'm one who doesn't find the ending superfluous; quite fitting for a 12 hour film, IMO.

2. haven't seen it. i reckon its just 'the english patient' all over again.

3. if LotR hadn't been released, this one would be my definite pick for best film '03. kuddos to eastwood, but pete worked his ass off for LotR and deserves the praise.

4. i really want to see this one.

5. no interest to see.

6. never even heard of this.

cheers

The Passion of the Christ

Updated: 01:59 PM EST
Gibson Wanted a Shocking 'Passion'

TODD PETERSON, People

Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" has been described as violent and anti-Semitic, but the actor-director sat down with ABC's Diane Sawyer to defend his controversial new movie. "To be anti-Semitic is to be un-Christian. And I'm not (un-Christian)," Gibson said in the taped interview, which aired Monday night.

AP
Diane Sawyer interviews Gibson about the controversy surrounding 'The Passion of the Christ.' Watch the interview.

The film, which depicts the last 12 hours in the life of Christ, has drawn complaints from some Jewish viewers who think "Passion" is anti-Jewish, or that it could at least inflame anti-Semitic biases.

But both Gibson and "Passion" star Jim Caviezel deny that the movie represents any such thing. "If (Gibson had) said, 'Hey, I'm going to make an anti-Semitic film, would you like to join me?' I wouldn't have been part of a film like that," Caviezel told the New York Post.

However, the director does not deny that the film's violence will probably shock some moviegoers. "I wanted it to be shocking. And I also wanted it to be extreme. I wanted it to push the viewer over the edge. And it does that," he told Sawyer.

Gibson also said that the movie represents "my version of what happened, according to the Gospels, and what I wanted to show -- the aspects of it I wanted to show."

If that proves to be too much for some viewers, he said, they do not have to see it. "If you want to leave halfway through, go ahead," Gibson told Sawyer.

Meanwhile, the film is doing huge advance business among Christians. Churches across the nation have bought tickets in bulk, selling out theaters from Texas to Montana on opening day, Feb. 25, Reuters reports.

"We've never seen anything like this," a spokesman for the AMC theater chain said, noting that the interest in "Passion" eclipsed even that of hits like "Lord of the Rings" and "Harry Potter."

Which, by the way, was a remake of a film called 'My Favorite Wife' with Cary Grant and Irene Dunn.. A classic and one of my favs.

There was also a Doris Day remake of the movie.
