Dear All whom read this...

I am an English Guy 28 yrs of age, coming over to Newzealand this coming October, i'll be on a holiday working visa for upto about 12 months.

My interest is to go somewhere that teachs Maori..It would be good to see a traditional culture and observe their styles of living and their spritual traditions.

You possibly think this is odd, maybe its is, its just i have a sort of calling to find out more....?

If anyone can help me find the best place/people then please e~mail me. I used to be a teacher of cabinetry and furniture design until i decided to resign and live my life a little. What im doing is strange but i don't care what average people think. So when i come over and visit i don't mind bringing my skills and knowledge to anyone who as a genuine interest in fine furniture making, its design and construction.

My specilist skils are: Carving, marquetry & inlaying, gilding, polishing, furniture design, technical drawing and manufacturing systems.

I'l be bringing my portfolio so i can get work..If you know any one whom can help me in this small niche field then let them or me know...!

I very open minded and friendly too...

Its hard for people to see the greater picture of what i intend to achieve and yet while enjoying the beautiful land i have heard so much about.

If you want to send me info or just write, then either reply to this or e~mail me.. Desfurn@hotmail.com

KK..

Hope to hear from you soon...

Kind regards,

marcus

Thumbs up I agree

Hi Marcus!
I have just read your lines and I think you are doing the right thing. Even if things might not be that easy stepping into another world and life, I do believe that you will not regret it.
I am as curious as you to learn about the Maori culture (but not only in the books). By the way, I am travelling to NZ in October 2002, too. Maybe we can keep in touch...?
Sarah
