I have been interested in maori tatooing for a while. i am half maori but lived in canada my whole life. With little knowledge of the true meanings and culture of them, i am curious to learn more about them. A few of my questions are: can you only get them done on the islands, is there a family tatoo or tribe tatoo, are they still performed in traditional ways. There are many more details of course but that will all come in time. Thanx,

Tena Koe ~ You can get a Maori Tattoo from almost any where in the world if you know the design you want. BUT, I suggest you do it properly and go back to your roots. It's good to see that your interested in learning about you culture as it is VERY meaningful, and interesting...there are other sites to check out that are very helpful, try:
