Good day to you all.

My account was recently created and this is my very first post. I have not used my english in a long time so I might make some stupid errors but, from having read the language forum, you all seem pretty forgiving when it comes to the language subject

I'm swedish, living in Stockholm and aprox. six months from turning 18, the magical birthday which permits access to so many important things here. I like electronic music a lot and it would be nice to have some international contacts that would share my musical taste.

I particulary enjoy prog. house, melodic trance and dark house... I enjoy songs that combined harmonic beauty and rythmic finess (such as precisely placed syncopes in basslines/percussions/leads) Global Undergound labelled records, Lords of SVEK, Armin van Buuren and other similars are among my favorites.

My subject may seem specific (which probably will reduce the quantity of replies). However, I'd really enjoy any type of replies, always nice to talk to new people!

Vänliga hälsningar

/svek

welcome to the site.

just one silly Ami question though.

What's up with the Euro obsession with trance/techno/electronic music!?

I mean really, most amis only listen to it at raves when they're drunk &/or high on something. Most won't listen to it any other time though. I just don't get how Europeans can listen to that stuff even when they're sober and lucid.

Hi Svek

I like electronic music, too. I like house and trance the most. My favorite house has been the stuff coming out of Chicago, and other parts of the Midwestern U.S. I also like such English stuff as old Aphex Twin and Orbital. A lot of the stuff I've liked, though, I haven't known who made it or where it was from, cuz I just heard it at raves and clubs, or heard it on mix tapes of DJs that I've known. What's the scene in Stockholm like?

Arti, I listen to that music at home. I stopped raving 9 years ago, but I still like the music.

At least I don't listen to "One-Legged Jethro and the Bayou Band" like you do!

America is a pretty big country and I can assure you that there are electronic music fans there that listen to all kinds of weird productions all day.

I suppose that the techno and dance became more mainstream than in USA (hence the nickname of the most comercial techno/dance "eurodance").
