Wouldn't it be more fair, seeing as how the VCI countries are owned and operated(?) by an American company, shouldn't an e-america company be opened and operated by a European based company?

This just appeals to my warpped sence of irony!

Why would an American company create a website for potential American travellers into America? Why would their be a site for people who are going on holiday about their own home country?
That's why I imagine there's no e-America.

Probably an American site would be better set up by State or by region... i.e. The South, Midwest, Pacific Northwest, etc.... Most Americans don't get out of their own State or region much, especially here in the West as the States are so huge, with gas being so high, it's uneconomical to drive much. There are places I have yet to visit, even in my area and I have been lucky enough to be able to travel around a lot what with 4-H and family living scattered around.

An idea of the size of some States, it takes me 9 hours to travel from my home on one side of Oregon to go to the Ocean on the other side of the state, going as straight as I can from border to coast. And Oregon is not the largest place by any means.

One great thing about the internet, it shrinks the world!

Yes, actually, I have been there and seen the appaling price of petrol. I have also seen your excellent mass transit system. We don't have that available to us, unless you happen to live in a very urban area. There are no public busses that come to my town and will take me to the next town. I have to get myself there and it can be a long way! Distances here tend to be longer, towns are not close to each other, we are very spread out. The closest place to me has about 800 people and it is a 10 mile drive. Bear in mind, it is a larger place than my town, with it's 200 people, but there isn't anything to do in the closest place, really. To shop at a department type store, it's a 70 mile trip, one way! And no bus to take me there and no busses when I get there to take me around the city. The closest city with a mass transit system is a 6 hour drive away! I can't even take the train to that city as it no longer stops in the city 70 miles from me! If I go there, which I do as I have family there, I have to take myself.

We don't all live in LA! >shudder
The last time I was at the gas station, I got $10.00 worth and it was about 1/4 of a tank. It cost me $2.01 per gallon. I don't know what that works out to in Pounds and Litres, I do know it's higher for you guys, $2.00 I think would be a bit over 1 Pound? (In 2002, the exchange rate was $1.00 = 1 Pound 50.) But we have our own oil source in Alaska, it shouldn't be that high! And according to my daughter in Iowa, gas is cheeper there. No one seems to know why we pay so much!

Ho-ly Crap. There's a worse mass transit system in the world than Britain. I won't believe it until I see it. Trains are delayed because there's a leaf on the track here.
£1.00 = $1.84 last time I saw it, that was a few weeks ago though. Closest place to me with more than 200 people is...wait, I live in that place. Going into the 10s of thousands, I think.
Taxes make it so high. These things called taxes that they put on the fuel to make money. Why do you think ours costs so high. We have North Sea oil, although most of ours is imported from the Middle East.

Of course you all don't live in L.A. From what I've seen why would you want to?

Still, now our prices are high. And the mass transit isn't exactly cheap.

Change that to "Few complaints about Iraq" matey...It's the Euro-wimps & weenies that are all ticked off about Iraq and say: "Imagine that! The Yanks have NERVE to defend themselves against terrorism! The nerve of those people!" Just who do they think they are, those high & mighty Yankees?"
