Hi. In February 2003 I will move (for 6 months) to Belgium.
I don't know the Flemish at all and I go to some city near Antwerp. I know English and little bit of French. Could You help me somehow? I want to learn Flemish culture and the language, but I don't know how to start. I wish you write to me. |

Hi Ula. What's your nationality?
2003? you still have a whole year to prepare yourself. The languages in Flanders is Dutch (it is a bit like South-African...but more difficult). The best way to learn is by doing. I've had a lot of french courses in my life, but started to learn real french only when I was living within a frenchspeaking community. If you speak English, you'll be okay: most people understand english and all people with higher education speak it. |
