I'm hoping to move my family to Northland in the next couple of years, after I obtain my degree. I'm not looking for romance, just a friendly face when we arrive. All ages are welcome to reply, because I have a very nervous daughter and she would probably like to hear from the younger people.

Also, any input on a town where I can get a good job is helpful. I'll have a bachelors degree in computer science.

I hope to hear from you soon!

Re: hi there

Hi Jen,

I'd be happy to chat with you. Napier is still on the North Island. It's by Hawkes Bay, isn't it? I just chose Northland because it's supposed to be the warmest. I was going to move to Dunedin, but I heard it snowed there and I'm deathly tired of snow. Tell me about Napier and yourself if you don't mind. I guess I should ask you age (if you don't mind that too), because I did mention people talking to my daughter as well as myself.

Michele

I'm 34 and my daughter Briana is 10, going on 30. It sounds wonderful there, especially since i think the high today will be about 45F, which is unseasonably warm, since it's winter time here. Generally winter time for us has highs in the 20's and lows in the single digits. It's all Fahrenheit here, we never quite made it to Celsius. In the summer, it runs about 95-100 with 80-100 percent humidity.

what are winters like there? I don't have to move to Northland, i just want someplace that's warm in the winter.

Smile hello again LOL

Hi Michele,
Well winters here are pretty mild. Well saying that we do get cold around 0.C first thing in the mornng with frost but nooooooo snow, could get upto for the day around 15.C thats on good day day. If we get a frost in the morning we normally have a really Beauitiful day here and mild temps. We do get cold weather here in winter and rain but not as bad as were you are i guess. Only guess snow up in the very high hills not in the city. (thnak goodness).

Talk to you soon

Jen

msn

I have aol and yahoo. Actually the screen name for both is mnomaha.

winter doesn't sound too bad where you are, but it still gets a little crisp from the sounds of it. I was originally going to move to Auckland, but it sounds crowded and i get extra points on my immigration status if i move to a rural area. I think the problem with that is the job situation. I guess i'll have to see what the next couple of years bring.

I'll be home tonight, so if you want to chat, just im me.

Michele
