this is one of those times when i'm really pissed off at a large swath of people in my country.
most bush backers care most about "moral values" (e.g. keeping equal rights from people based on their sexual orientation, abortion issues being more important than the fact that thousands of people have been killed in iraq because we went to war preemptively, based on lies) and "terrorism" (most bush backers are from places that are not big terrorist targets. hmmm....how many millions in funding have been cut from new york city's police, fire, and emergency response units? hmmm....osama left to be ignored, and his group gone more underground and harder to catch, while we start a war based on lies and have made almost the entire world really pissed off at us. sounds like we are a lot safer now) ![]() then, the millions who love to complain about stuff, but don't get off their asses and GO VOTE!!!! ![]() bosse, go fill out those papers to adopt me. |

Well, like Usama explained about his goal: ...to make the U.S economy biased towards Extreme expenses for the military, which will eventially collapse the economy and cause cause political conflicts and the demand for redistribution of economical resources. Ultimately, that is terrorism as social architecture, which is scary but works with military oriented policy makers (like the USSR in Afghanistan).
It is scary, especially regarding that Usama have been right so far. Now it seems, Usama got the administration (and the majority of the people as it seems) where he wants it. Isn't it likely that the U.S economy will be drained if the war on terrorism goes on? Unless...*IDEA!* we can get hands of the oil quick as hell. That could finance a war on terrorism that otherwise would create a budget deficit in the States. Think about it Blabjorn. The situation is more delicate than one could perhaps expect people and politicians to understand and, even worse, know how to deal with now that the war is on. (Don't ask me how I got onto this, my mind moves in mysterious ways - and very much causes a lot of trouble in my life )

i know it will happen. the next terrorist attack on u.s. soil. and it will happen in a region of the country that had a majority vote for kerry. look at the high kerry vote in manhattan, kings, queens counties. in washington, d.c. look at all the coastal port cities that voted majority kerry. even great lakes port cities (even cleveland in bush's ohio) that were blue. think about all those millions of container ships coming into ports that go unchecked. perhaps the rest of the country should look to the cities that have had terrorist attacks and are most likely to have them in the future (almost all blue cities). the people in this country most threatened by terrorist voted majority KERRY. that should give the people sheltered by the southern magnolias and midwest corn a clue. the people most threatened by terrorism are the people who see kerry's approach to be much safer.
by the way, i feel like i am in the 1950's jim crow south. my dad is experiencing deja vu, i'm sure, when he sees millions of americans passing state measures to deny a section of the population equal rights. reminds him of growing up in segregated south carolina. ya know, one group of citizens gets more rights due to an inborn trait...skin color then, sexual orientation now. gee, i remember something in the constitution about all people being equal? after over 200 years, i guess a lot of people in this country still don't grasp that simple idea. ![]() |

This Just In:
Harshly reacting to the unexpected victory of Bush & Co. in the American election tuesday, almost all competent Americans with the means decided to "outsource" themselves. "I don't know where I'm going, I'm just outta' here!" replied Susan Smith to our inquries, "I thought the majority of Americans had the ability to simply think, you know...use logic and reason...I can't believe I could have been so naive!"..."good luck digging yourselves out of this hole!" she added with a creepy smirk before entering the security checkpoint at Chicago O'Hare airport, never to return. It is expected that by the end of November, a very large amount of American citizens will have done the same, leaving just over 60% of the population to "fend for themselves." Left alone at the controls, these very emotional and not all-too-bright Americans are already reaping havoc, trying to "bomb back to the stoneage" all of the "goddamned terrorist towel heads" of the world. Unfortunatley, due to their lack of simple geography skills, Hawaii and Antarctica have both suffered irreparable damages. Another interesting development caused by their military arrogance has caused a new valcano to be born in the middle of Branson, Missouri in an attempt to "git rid of that damned Satan for good," by drilling and bombing under ground indiscriminately. Maybe voting was just as important as registering, after all.... think about that 18-24 year olds..... we might not get a next time! ------------------- My condolences to everyone. ![]() Sam |

Jag tror att de flesta amerikaner är dem mest lättlurade människorna i hela världen. Hur kunde de ha varit sådana idioter. Jag är inte bara besviken utan också arg och rädd för mitt lands framtid. Vem fan har röstat för Bush?!?!
But seriously, I am not surprised by this Bush victory, I said a few weeks ago here that Bush was at least a 60% chance of victory. Why, simple, our news media is a world disgrace and our Christian Churches have lined up behind Bush. The allience between Christians, Nazis, all rightwing nuts, the military industrial complex, the large corporations and the media they own, along with the rich oligracy is really unbeatable in an election. It is as simple as that. Yahoonews headlines today have been. "Bush says election results are a mandate for his agenda", "Bush oulines his agenda". If that isn't enough to scare hell out of anybody! So where do we go from here? Well, it is clear that the congress will rubberstamp the entire Bush agenda next term. The SupremeCourt will be an ultra rightwing fundamentalist court till the day I die. So, watch 50 years of civil rights and liberties go down the toilet. The military/intelligence complex will recieve almost unlimited funding and waste probably 75% of it! War in Iraq, for a decade or more, perhaps an expanded conflict into Syria and Iran. If we get another terror attack on American soil, we can kiss all our civil liberties goodbye and enter into a police state. That is my biggest fear, what will happen to our freedom when the next big one hits and it will hit. It's only a matter of time. Wish I had some good news, well, there is one bright spot, my StockMarket investments should do real well under a Bush regime. As Clinton would say, I feel your pain! Do any of you know what Americans were thinking when they voted for Bush?? I sure can't understand it. I bet it was because Bush was a moral man. Draftdodger, awol nationguardsman, cocain snorter, alchoholic, failed business man [3 times] , and born again failure. Guess that's all it takes to be a puppet for the rich. I would guess America just signed it's own death warrent. sunsite |

Samantha, you may have hit the nail on the head!! ![]() "Harshly reacting to the news ...... all Americans decided to out-source themselves " ..... and further on " ... going through the security checkouts, .... never to return" leaving the remaining 60% to "Fend for themselves" Would this be the 60% of the population who actually VOTED? How can a GENERAL election with a 60% turnout (and that praised as a "vast improvement" on previous election turnouts???????????) be considered a Democratic result? Perhaps those voting with their feet have the right idea .... ![]() |

I find at times like this the only recourse is humour. ![]() If I may be serious for a moment..could someone please explain to me,why is America now a Dictatorship? With all the checks and balances that the Founding Father's had implemented to safeguard American Democracy this should never have happened. This Cabal now runs all branches of the Government. Is this not what the Founding Father's were trying to prevent? Is this legal within the Constitution?I truly do not understand this. -------------------- I see that Greg Palast is uncovering the dirty deeds once again. It seems that Kerry won after all.I can only imagine what they threatened him with if he did not conceed? We have all witnessed true evil at work here, now all we can hope for is that they receive their just reward. Here's a further little item I found tucked away on an inconspicuous page full of trivia in a national daily last night .........
Official figures show a nett emigration of people FROM the UK going to live elsewhere in the last 12 months!!! Even when immigrants (legal and otherwise) other than legitimate refugees/asylum seekers are discounted, a total of 485,000 UK residents chose to "up sticks and away" permanently for other shores in the 12 month period ending July 7 2004 Since the population of the UK has remained around the 50m mark for some time now, perhaps we should all leave and rent off the island to the 50m Yanks mentioned above to use as a refugee camp ..... ![]() |

You know it's funny..if the Democrats had won...[legaly I think they did btw]...there is no way that you would have the Bible Thumping Rednecks flocking to the borders.LOL...we're just way to 'Gay' for them up here.Big time sinners you know.I had a bit of a spat with one of them the other day, this was on a non-political forum the day after the results. He was telling everyone what a 'Good Man'Bush was, well of course we all know that is not true...anyhow..I mention that the whole electoral system needs an overhaul...well excuse me..he blasts back to me..."If you don't live in the U.S.A. why are you trying to run our business? You do what you want in your country and we do what we see fit."What a flippin idjit...oxymoron..I respond with...How about telling that to the over 100.000 innocent dead Iraqi's?etc.I got in the last word as the mod shut down the thread. He shut it down because this in-bred braindead ditto-monkey just kept repeating over and over how his GOD Bush was such a wonderfull kind man.If half of America is like this I can't blame the progressives wanting to leave.Makes you wonder though. They are against abortion but don't mind killing living women and children by the thousands.Their God tells them 'Though Shalt Not Kill'.They are against gay marriages yet no doubt most of them are married to their cousins or divorced. They want the right to bear arms, yet bearing arms was given as a right to fight against a tyranical out of control Government, which they now have.Am I missing something here? What a joke.I think that they should all be forced to watch 'The Power Of Nightmares.'
--------------------------- Excerpt: U.S. results could spur a Canadian brain gain If some Americans decide that they want to join us in our struggle here in Canada, they should be more than welcome to apply. But... by Scott Piatkowski November 4, 2004 In the months leading up to the American Presidential election, I had a number of progressive-minded Americans say to me “If Bush wins, I’m moving to Canada.” They weren't being flippant and they certainly weren't alone. In fact, Googling the terms “Bush” + “I'm moving to Canada” generates an incredible 5,580 hits. It's not the first time that left-leaning Americans have looked north for a refuge from their country's political climate (the one type of climate in which Canada enjoys an advantage over the United States). During the Vietnam War, for example, thousands of draft-age Americans whose dads could not get them into the Texas Air National Guard fled to Canada. Others have had different, less political reasons (such as work, love, or a sense of adventure) for moving here. All told, there are over one million American citizens currently living in Canada. your country has been a destination for folks down here for centuries, sam. especially for the black people running away from slavery and also those freed folks relocating with promises of land in places like nova scotia. seems like we have always been behind your country in terms of freedom.

My favorite recent reaction to the Bush victory is the suggestion that the Blue states leave the union and form separate country. This in order to de-couple us from the south and midwest the center of modern fascism. I for one agree with this all the way. Here is the new America, The northeast, uppermidwest and west coast. The blue states left to their own devices would be modern, free, progressive and have the most vital economy in the world. Sort of a Canada on steroids. Better yet, we could join with Canada to form a more free and progressive union. All we would lose by leaving the South and midwest behind would be ignorance, racism, intolerance and a third world economy. Plus, we are net tax payers while the red states are tax spounges! So our new free America would have much more tax revenue to work with. This is my choice, why leave Minnesota when my people elected Kerry and threw 13 republicans out of their state house seats this election! We thus had a 26 seat shift in our state legislature. Long live the north and west coast!!!!!

I am sorry not to have been able to share the election with you all here- I was busy entertaining a friend from Russia and had no time to post.
I stayed up until 3:00 am to listen to the election on the BBC World Service- and when I finally went to sleep, it still looked like there was a chance for Kerry, so imagine my shock the following morning when I discovered Bush had won ![]() I am still lost for words- I know no one here who is pleased at the result. Even many Conservative politicians (ie: the opposition party) who are normally pro-Republican, were dismayed at the result. In fact the former Foreign Secretary, Douglas Hurd made a very concise and accurate summary of events, and it was not an optimistic one. All I can say, is England would be more than happy to recieve all you disillusioned Americans (and if you get here in time, you can help us vote Blair out of power- or at least 'remove' him as the present Prime Minister). I know this picture has been doing the rounds on the internet, so appologies if I am just repeating it again, but it does kind of sum up America at the moment. ![]() God help us for 4 more years of this dork...all I can suggest is you all come here and help push the Jesus freaks back into the 17th Century where they belong- without the benefit of the 'Englightenment' that seems to have passed most of them anyway. Sorry, America, you deserve much better ![]()
