you mis-read the post Last-Knight

I deliberately didn't mention the Industrialisation, which as you say, was from slavery and mass-murder.

I was pointing out that Stalin was never a communist, and couldn't stand them!. He was much too clever to believe in rubbish like communism or socialism.

As for "Russia may be good now" IT ISN'T!
Most people in the former USSR are much worse off now than under Communism.
What they are not, compared to us, is backward. They can run a transport network and educate their children to a level that is decades ahead of the UK, and their media - despite Putin's meddling - puts our idiot-fodder to shame.

Hrushev was not too bad, better than most of our idiots, but Brezhnev was a plain crook.

I like Winston Churchill's view of our way of Government, "It's the worst system in the world - apart from all the others"
Though in the hands of today's morons, I fear for it.

I have to agree on transport system a dead rat could run it better. I don't know about the education it looks bad in comparison to previous years in British history, I think its pretty good on a global scale.

Those former Soviet states that are joining the EU might get it better off. And they are all paying us 246 million in rebate.

Any -ism is usually flawed, and Communism more flawed than most; but have to correct a couple of things:
Stalin was no Communist and had contempt for Socialists; his heroes were Ivan Grozny and Peter the Great.
Stalin saw himself as the Czar of all the Russias - that's why he had all the Communist Revolutionaries killed (leaving alive a handful for the funerals).
Therefore Communism cannot be blamed for Stalin's genocides.

Secondly, we are in no position to be snotty about the USSR as they created the best education system in the world; they could run public transport; and the pensioners were better off than here.
While the problems after the collapse of communism are appalling, Every time I return to the UK after being in the former USSR I am exasperated at how backward our country is in comparison.
Stalin NOT a communist!

What nonsense! He was the man who took communism to its logical conclusion: war, death camps, tyranny and thought control!

The Czars of Russia at least gave lip service to Christianity and love of one's neighbors, but Stalin was a butcher who even terrorized his own family!

A real mad dog! The only true COMMUNIST!

I'll repeat it once: Stalin's heroes were Peter the Great and Ivan Grozniy, and he killed the Communists.
Either you know Stalin was not a Communist, or you know f***-all about the man.
pick one.

Pretty good on a global scale? Well, since most of the Earth's surface is inhabited by plankton and similar aquatic life-forms I suppose that's true.
It's when our schoolkids' intelligence is compared with land-dwellars - such as rabid dogs, for instance - that they fare badly.

I wouldn't go that far. Most youths that cause the trouble now never got through school.
Americans must be lower down the scale than Rabid dogs then because ours is producing brains above most others in the world, including America.
If you're producing smart kids, the system works. However, you can never force everyone to listen so it can never be perfect.
