Unfortunately, the BNP have rather more than 3 seats, at least as far as council seats are concerned.

It's very sad that they've been gaining ground, but there it is.

You cannot reach a position of power in this country unless you have the not-particularly-bright vote.
And those people will watch 'Breakfast With Frost' and 'Richard And Judy'; they will then vote Labour.
This is England; we vote for boring murderers, not extremist murderers.

I don't wish to be a Prophet Of Doom... BUT...Has anyone ever read "Diary of a Man in Despair" by Friedrich Reck-Malleczewen?
It is an eyewitness account of the Nazis taking over in Germany, written by a Aristocrat who knew and hated them, and was eventually murdered by them.
The similarities with modern-day UK are terrifying - the gullible, uneducated, selfish populace which would vote for Andy Pandy if he shouted loud enough.

Yes, I take all the previous dismissive comments back - we should be extremely vigilant.

Selfish populace, has the world ever been any different?

Never.

The BNP

I actually saw them, voltaire. A very sad bunch indeed, they ponced around outside the pub on St George's Day and had some little scuffles with the plod.
They were a very unimpressive shower of ranting morons - similar to the studio audience of Trisha.
The level of violence they achieved was very poor; especially so to those of us who followed football in the 80s.
It looked more CND than ICF

Still, if they had brains they'd be dangerous; and if brains were dynamite they wouldn't even be able to blow their noses.

Exactly, Shev;

The idea that these jokers are "authentic representatives of the white majority" or whatever they call themselves would be funny if it wasn't so tragic.

I think, Voltaire, you would've liked the scene on St George's night.
When the BNP herberts had their little bit of handbags with our local constabulary (another bunch of jessies) everyone was in stitches. They actually are funny (and yes, tragic), though to elderly immigrants, as opposed to p***-taking pub-goers, I suppose they are sinister and threatening.
I don't think anyone laughed at the German Nazis when they went on the march.
There will not be a beer-hall putsch from this lot; I doubt they're up to a hot-dog van putsch, to be honest.

I wonder if they want me out of the country - my parents are both immigrants. It's a bit rude if they do, I've been to England away games and attacked for being English.

I believe it does depend on what colour your skin is. They seem to want to "voluntarily" repatriate most non-whites, whilst ignoring whites.
