I've just been reading through the proposals for English devolution the proposals put forward do not make for pretty reading.

The first proposal is the Governments White Paper This is no more than another Whitehall re-organisation of English local government with no devolution to England at all. Mr Prescott (welsh) has been brutely honest about this rejecting for England the devolution model of the Scottish Parliament. (Double standards from the Celtic connections Blair and Prescott).

The second proposal is the CFER this will see the total abolishment of England as a nation and divided up into 9 european regions which will be given european regional status able to operate directly with Brussels. Basically this means the termination of England the UK would become the "nations" (Scotland,Wales and the regions).

The third is a devolved England with the same powers as Scotland but the Scottish govenment have refused point blank saying England is to large to run as a sub state entity...the answer is simple give us Independance!!!

Anyone else got any views on this mess? anyone agree that it reaks of double standards?

YES! Definitely yes, but my views are pretty much the same as yours, outlined above, which doesn't really make for interesting discussion
I didn't know Prescott was Welsh.
I thought he was the token English working-class type, chosen to deflect criticism that New Labour are mostly middle-class Scottish nancies who've never done day's work in their lives.

He didn't deck the fella, Prescott was decked.

He threw an egg at Prescott, who hit him with a flimsy jab, and the fat bloke with the mullet slapped Prescott onto his wobbly arse.

It's Prescott's fault, if he had ever done a day's work in his life he'd have been fit enough to fight properly
