THE GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH IS A BIG THREAT TO THE BALKAN COUNTRIES
ATHENS - The reports prepared in the United States against Greece have increased considerably.
Greece, which in the last few weeks has been accused of being "a terrorist country" by the Senate, the State Department and the media, is now in trouble because of the Church.
The American State Department, in its report drawn up about Greece, evaluates the Greek Orthodox Church as a destructive force for the peace of the region.
It is pointed out in the report that the Church is radically nurturing and directing Greek nationalism, endeavouring to tear Greece away from its allies and unite it with the Serbs, sabotaging the development of Turkish-Greek relations, pursuing an excessively pro-Russian policy and conducting activities for the establishment of Orthodox hegemony in the Balkans.
This report, which has emerged now during the struggle started by Archbishop Christodoulos of the Greek Orthodox Church against Prime Minister Costas Simits who is pursuing a peaceful policy in Greece and the Balkans, is the harbinger of difficult days awaiting Greece.
