Friday!

What is it with you and deism?

You post this stuff, but you never debate it.

Why is deism so important to you? We really want to know.

well, niquie, i have debated it in the 'i aint got no pancake mix' and 'deism is the only way' threads at you_know_where.com, both of which have been deleted...

but i'll tell you- when i lost both of my legs to a giant snapping turtle back in '99 during all the y2k hysteria, i had an epiphany; at that moment i realized that deism is the most compatible with darwinism and spirituality, it also leaves out all the cultural baggage and tribal imagery of every other religion.

Hi Friday.

I too am sick of all the mumbo-jumbo thrown at us by mere mortals who elevate themselves and 'sit at the right hand of God."

They perceive themselves as the arbiters of what God wants, what God says, what God thinks....all bullsh!t, if you ask me.

But still, I don't think God has abandoned us. I think he'd like to! But I don't think he has.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking.

Still, if I were God, I'd be pissed as hell.

I'll tell you what I get tired of hearing around here: the fawning some people do. American blacks call people like that "Uncle Toms." They grovel at the feet of whomever they perceive to be the "massa" of the moment. "You're the sweetest person in the whole world," "No, you are," "NO--you!" Blechhhhh! Of course when that "massa" gets knocked off the top of the hill by another "massa," they abandon the first and assume the position around the toes of the new one. And they never seem to get tired of degrading themselves trying to look like the most unbiased person ever. The GROVEL-EES never seem to catch on that the GROVEL-ERS are bigots of the worst kind. Fawning after someone who is different from oneself to prove that one is not racist is--newsflash--racist! It's unnatural behavior--the fawner would not agree with everything put forth by persons in his own group; yet, he is so fearful of having his bigotry exposed, he slops sugar all over the group against which he is biased.

oh, niquie!

about that post.... so its kinda like with macktheknife and his/her golden brown haired, blue-eyed, light-skinned jesus? am i getting this?

but back to reality.... since you believe 'god' is perfect, active and all seeing, do you then believe in predestination? and if 'god' is so perfect why didnt he/she/it go right to creating bi-pedal creatures that could walk and talk instead of all this dino business?

i think this 'god' is a spectator at best, but if this 'god' is involved i think it has somewhat human imperfections, such as selfishness of needing to be worshiped

That's a great point, tar-tar-kon-troll...

If God is so self-absorbed and insecure that he demands to be worshipped by mindless masses, then he surely is not as almighty as people claim he is.

I like to think that God is above all that, but maybe I'm wrong, and will burn in hell for all eternity

Hey Einstein- we all know each other from another board, and just what the heck is all that drivel about anyway...you have an inferiority complex or something, or just like to demonstrate you forgot your correct medication again ?

Jasper, I'll let you know if and when an inferiority complex kicks in. First I'll have to come across someone I'm inferior to, and it ain't gonna happen on this board.

By the way, those "wrong medications," "off your meds," remarks were pretty funny when the first 1,000 people used them, but they're starting to get kind of lame now. They belong in the cellar with "get with the program," "no way, Jose," etc. Watch "Letterman" and "Leno" and steal some new material--much fresher.

Jasper, by the way--thanks for the compliment of calling me Einstein. I knew every one of you saw my exceptional intelligence. I just didn't know if any of you would admit it.

Oh and Jasper, someone should have told you long before this: your parachute failed to open.

Mack...sarcasm is lost on you isn't it ?

I see little evidence of either (a) your 'superiority' or (b) your own open mindedness and tollerance of others views.

I do see an intollerant and frankly arrogant individual with little to say except spite and hatred to people who follow a different religious faith to your own. I see little commendable in such postering you practice, but then I am not gifted with your own particular mental sensbilities. Thank God.

Ever thought of posting all your 'collected' ideas in one post, or is there such a significant gap between each one, they warrant their own seperate entry ?

Jasper, Friday, Iluminado....

Hey, guys.

Friday, your argument makes sense, I give you macktheknife. Oh, Friday.....have you read her crap?

Anyway, I can't argue with you. Still, I believe in God, in some higher being.

Jasper, ya think if we prayed for this infidel, she'd recover? But, to whom do we pray for her deliverance? I know! The Great God Tijuana Iguana. Yoda123 ought to be here. Shall we invite her?

Jasper, to begin with I am superior to you in that I spell tolerance, sensibilities, and separate correctly. Other evidence of my superiority will hit you like a ton of bricks--probably in a day or so given your low iq. Tolerance and open-mindedness I do not claim. Aunt Tom Niquie, Grafix, and now you are the ones who claim those dubious qualities. The strange thing is not a one of you is open-minded about viewpoints which differ from your own which, of course, means you are no more open-minded than anyone else.

I have been approached by several publishers about the possibility of capturing in one volume my philosophies. It is just so difficult deciding if I want to go with the old, prestigious company or the young upstart one that can get me the cash.
