Do you guys know this site?:

http://www.northvegr.org/

It seems to contain virtually all ancient Norse references/sagas/etc. Exhaustive source.

Smile Thanx Nordish!

That's a great site.

Now does anyone know of a really great illustrated book on Norse mythology.

I'd like to know where I could get a really big hard bound book with nice script and well-done illustrations of the gods, etc.

Smile thanx ninswe

I want one in English or even Norwegian so long as it's a nice hard bound book with well done illustrations that would make a great coffee table book for decoration as well as reading.

Illustrated Books?

Do you mean, something with more 'content' than the Dandy or the Beano?

Suppose you could always try the Book of Kells.I had the privilege of viewing a couple of pages during a visit to Dublin earlier this year, the work involved in making up each page is mind-boggling!
This is what I would call genuine ancient wisdom, and amazingly high quality artwork

Thanx Paul

I majored in Fine Art at Uni. I concentrated on painting, mainly in oil. But I also took some ceramics, sculpture, and photography classes. I really regret not taking any illustration classes. So that's why I want a really beautifully illustrated book of Norse mythology which interests me anyway with or without the artwork. I know there has to be something out there I could purchase on the net, I just need a title.

all men are mortal.
Words of praise
will never perish
nor a noble name.

The Sayings of Hár

stanza 19

Drink your mead, but in moderation,
Talk sense or be silent:
No man is called discourteous who goes
To bed at an early hour

Foolish is he who frets at night,
And lies awake to worry'
A weary man when morning comes,
He finds all as bad as before,

Were the stories in that early 90's Black Sabbath album about Tyr true?

I think you guys got wasted with all of that Northern Lights hovering on top of you...

A, the 13th warrior... then you should know a bit about vikings... Well, what did Black Sabbath sing? If you help me out, we can try to get it verified...

Friday... sorry, Kinison... I think that that movie sucked less than I thought it would do. Which makes it not good, but kind of interesting anyway.
