Check out this website for the lyrics of "Odin's Court" & "Valhalla":
http://www.black-sabbath.com/discog/tyr.html#lyrics All ancient civilizations had similar cool sagas of myths, and yours wasn't much of a peaceful one I guess ![]() So regardless of religions, there would still be wars.... As said in Qur'an: "Say, "If there were settled, on earth, angels walking about in peace and quiet, We should certainly have sent them down from the heavens an angel for a messenger." (Al-Isra, 95) What a divine wisdom........ |

The lyrics of Valhalla makes sense to me. The norse mythology is very much based upon the struggle between the (mortal) gods and the giants. All that happens in their struggle has effects on the life on man. Valhalla is the residence of the Gods, and all men that died in battle would be welcome to Valhall to feast with Odin. Those who died in sleep, would go to Hel (not Hell, but similar). At the final days, after three year-long winters (Fimbulwinter), the final battle between the Gods and the giants would come - and those men (vikings) who was in Valhalla would help the Gods in their fight (quite a hopeless struglle though, because the Gods are destined to loose).
A ship made of nails would sail off from Hel with all who had came their after death. To prevent this ship from ever being built, people were certain to always have their nails cut.
