what do Jews believe re: Jesus

I am curious as to what Jews believe about Jesus. Do they believe he is a prophet, or a blasphemer (as the Jews of his day thought)? Do you believe he claimed to be the Messiah as the gospels say (allthough I know Jews do not except this claim)?

I don't know of anyone who doesn't consider Jesus a prophet: Christian, Jew and Moslem alike. A "blasphemer"? That must depend on the individual. In any case, your last point must surely have some bearing on that thought. I imagine that if you do not believe that he was the Messiah but you believe that he actually claimed to be - Well! There's your answer. But if he never claimed to be the Messiah - then you can't blame him for what others have said. But that goes without saying. No?
