Cool

Hello from California,

I am going to be traveling in New Zealand this December, and i am curious if anyone can give me some ideas of surf spots on the north island. i am also going to be doing some tramping and would love to hear about all your trips. Any information on surf spots and stories about tramping would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
see ya on the flip-side, CLETUS

My brother is a keen surfer, his favourite spots are Raglan (just out of Hamilton), Muriwai (Auckland), O'Neils (Auckland) and further up Nth like Waipu Cove, Sandy Bay, and Whananaki....good luck buddy!

Don't know so much about the northern point of the north island for surf spots, but the more central regions there are Raglan which is a few minutes out of Hamilton. Also take a look at the Mount Maunganui. The west coast is okay too, Taranaki region - New Plymouth.
