For a listing of hostels (around 200/SEK per night)
http://www.aos.se/search?type=grid&r...neighborhoods=

(Areas that are most central: Norrmalm, Södermalm, Östermalm)

Hotel Ibis in Hägersten have very good prices (550-690sek for two persons) It is a 15 minute subway ride into city http://www.hotel.se/hotell/2354.asp

A hostel is probably best, price wise. The standard of Swedish hostels is excellent, by the way. If you look at the link I posted earlier, all those that (in the right column) are listed in Norrmalm, Östermalm, Södermalm) are within the city.

These are centrally located, and are open
http://www.citybackpackers.se/index_eng/index.html
http://www.zinkensdamm.com/edefault.htms
http://www.langholmen.com/en/default.html

The dollar rate is very low right now, which is good for me when I go to the U.S, but bad for you . You get about 7.50 SEK for a dollar (compared to 10.50 just a year ago).

hi, bosse!

thanks for the links again...i will get into ASAP...and for letting me know about the currency rate...really appreciate it a lot!...

yeah..it is low...but, well, i will try not to limit myself into my budget.....

i have a question...i have a single entry schengenstater visa for sweden...when i get to sweden, can i also use to go to germany? my friend is asking me to visit her in germany...but i am not sure if i can also go to germany after sweden...is schengenstater visa will allow me to go to germany as well after sweden? and i have a single entry visa too, not multiple entry...or can i need to get another visa to go to germany...if so, can i get it in sweden as well?

sorry for pouring out all these questions to you...just want to make sure before i do anything...if you are not sure either...it's ok...i will just call the embassy of sweden here or check when i get to sweden....but thanks anyways for the information that you have on these...that will save me some time if you know these stuff...

thanks a lot....you are really a huge help to me...and i appreciate it so much!!

I have to ask where you are travelling from, if you need a visa? I am afraid that I can´t answer your question, you will be safer asking the Swedish embassy perhaps.

You have to call SJ (Swedish Railroad) and ask for the price, since it is not to be found online. I know that Malmö-Berlin costs from 750sek (one-way), and Stockholm-Malmö from 550sek. The phone number is 0771-75 75 75, from abroad it is +46 771-757575

Coaches (bus) might be cheaper, and even flying. I found a roundtrip-ticket with Finnair for 970sek + tax (about 500sek) at http://www.seat24.se/Booking1.html.

Good luck!
