April is early autumn, still nice and warm, sweatshirt, light jacket, light trousers or shorts... Mornings will be cooler then I think.

April in NZ is great, my favourite month. As far as dress goes, if you plan on being in the South Island (which of course you must) you should make sure you are equipped for all four seasons. That includes winter. I am from Queenstown and traditionally we light our fires in April. You can get an early snow fall in April and frosts generally start in March. I would recommend a set of thermal underwear, a polar fleece type pullover, a good goretex type jacket and if you are planning on tramping/hiking a good pair of hiking boots. You will also need shorts and tee-shirts.
Enjoy |

Once again depends entirely on where you are going. Dunedin doesn't really get a summer but you can still have gorgeous, scorching hot summer days all year round, or it could snow on you in the same day. So come prepared for absolutley anything, chances are you'll get everything.
