When an American wants to know the time, he asks,
" Hi ! what is the time like "

The English will say," Excuse me please Sir, will you kindly tell me what time it is ,Sir"

In German language, the article THE is not there.
So a German will simply ask,"What is time?"

Once, Albert Einstein was taking a walk in the park,
deeply thinking about the laws of the universe.
It was just after he had published the General Theory of Relativity and the scientific world was abuzz with the new theory.

Suddenly Einstein realised that it was getting dark.
He forgot that he was wearing a watch.
So he asked the American who was passing by,

"What is time"

The tall and hefty American gave a quizzical look at
Albert Einstein, noticed that he was wearing a watch.

After a moment he replied,"Grandpa! your question is
so philosophical that it can be answered ony by
Albert Einstein"
